I had a bit of a play

This week I had a bit of a play (the video opposite) which for the 17 seconds took 99 shots (as in photos), 1 video and way more patience than I actually have.

It wasn’t taking the photos or the making of the video that was the problem, it was the getting the video uploaded from phone to laptop that really got on my toot!

Anyway, I got there in the end and thereafter, I put it on LinkedIn so I can thank Simon Hicks – Graphic Designer, Hilary Nightingale and Jenny Haken for the collaboration and then that got me thinking (here we go).

For this one mailshot I am going to do, I realised that other people such as Mark Rayson who took the photo that is on the leaflet, Kirsty Jane Van Den Bulk who did my makeup for said photoshoot (not to mention all the guidance and advice throughout my ETPDS adventure), the branding was thanks to Warren Brown, the logo came to life thanks to Andy Scott for this video.

So many people involved in getting all the three elements to me under one roof including, the leaflet printers, the DPD man (and everyone in between). There was Vista Print and all who sailed in her for the envelopes and the postman…and we go to the absolute ridiculous and talk about the people operating the machinery, who built the machinery, who maintain it, but it would be a never-ending story.

And we're not finished yet

And still, their epic quest has not ended, as I will be posting half of them whilst the rest are going in goodie carrier bags at a care exhibition.

Then THAT got me thinking (told you), the platforms, apps, technology and all the other wot-nots that were involved in making the final product.

From the top of my head, from start to finish, there was the idea (that’ll be me then), my laptop, screens, Canva, mobile phone (for actual phoning, texting, photos, videos etc), chargers for the said phones, email/Outlook, Microsoft Word, PDF, YouCut Video Editor (Pro), We Transfer, Clipchamp (moving onto Da Vinci soon) electricity, coffee (lots) and so it goes on.

This seemingly simple video, its contents and the other elements I have just listed, involved people who I have never met, never seen and probably never will. I have no idea how many are out there who were involved in getting me to this point-it could be hundreds, it could be thousands and I am very grateful.

And one last thought (promise). I had a bit of a play, but it really made me think. I think that every single one of us could, or probably are, hidden heroes, just like the hundreds or thousands that were involved in making my leaflet.

Did I miss anything out?
